Believers are reminded of the hope they have that God will judge rightly and vindicate the righteous. Unbelievers are warned and admonished to repent of their evil ways, because God will judge evil. God is glorified and received by faith because he judges rightly in the earth.
Jesus brings healing and restoration to two very different people, crossing religious lines, socioeconomic lines, and cultural stigmas, showing his great compassion and power to save, and his power over the natural and spiritual world. The work of Jesus is not based in our economy. His teaching, his kindness, his saving work have no insiders or outsiders.
Jesus meets us where we sit down in shame and stands us up as we believe in him.
