Derek Ailts | Elder

Derek is married to Amy; they have two children, Regan and Grayson. Derek grew up in Iowa, claims the Northwestern Wildcats as his Big 10 team and works in supply chain management at Boehringer Ingelheim. At NPC, Derek teaches Sunday School classes and provided leadership to our TRANSFORM Generosity Initiative in 2013. Derek and Amy joined NPC in 1999; Derek was ordained as a Ruling Elder in 2003.

 


Mike Aldrink | Elder

Mike and his wife Jennie have three children. Mike is an educator turned stay-at-home dad, marathon runner and CGroup leader. Mike enjoys singing praises to our Risen King with our choir and worship band and is tremendously humbled to be an elder at NPC. Mike accepted Christ into his heart at a young age and has a sincere desire to help those who are not born into a family where Christ is present, understand what it means to have a Heavenly father. One of his favorite verses is Ephesians 2:8, “For it by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”


Lance Bowman | Elder

Lance is married to Mary Jane. They have three grown children and one grandchild. Lance grew up in Lima, OH. He is a sales representative for CriticalAire, a company in the HVAC industry. Lance’s ministry passion is to help God’s people pursue healthy stewardship and frequently leads Financial Peace University at NPC. He also provides leadership to NPC’s Men’s Ministry. Lance is a Ruling Elder and  a member of Campus Outreach Columbus’ Board. One aspect of NPC’s ministry that excites Lance is applying the gospel to everyday work and neighborhood ministry opportunities.


Jeff Brotherton | Elder, Clerk of Session

Jeff is married to Lorraine. They have four grown children and two grandchildren. Jeff is the Chief Information Officer for Columbus College of Art and Design. Recently Jeff and Lorraine bought a farm near Marysville. Jeff teaches Sunday School classes at NPC. Jeff also sings in our choir and leads a weekly men’s mentoring group as part of our “Journey” program. Jeff was installed as a Ruling Elder at NPC in 2011. Jeff is excited about NPC’s outreach to the community with the gospel, showing people their sin problem and how God has solved that problem through Christ.


Chip Crickard | Elder

Chip is married to Ann. They have four grown children and one grandchild. Chip works for Scott’s Miracle-Gro in Information Technology. He faithfully leads Men’s Prayer and the Tuesday Morning Bible Study that has met at First Watch in Dublin for sixteen years, and is a small group leader. Chip is a wonderful woodcarver and has provided carvings for the Haiti Mission Auction.


Don Hughes | Elder

Don is married to Sherri. They have two grown children and one grandson. Don is a lawyer who specializes in corporate and business transactions and a partner at Squire, Sanders. Don teaches in our Sunday School program and provides leadership as a board member of the NPCA Preschool and to Campus Outreach Columbus. Don and Sherri also lead a small group at NPC. Don’s passion for ministry at NPC is to emphasize Gospel centrality in our teaching, fellowship and service.

 

 


Chris Mabee | Elder

Chris has been married to Kim for twenty one years. They have two daughters, Lauren and Kendall. Chris works as a gastroenterologist and enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. He is currently a seminary student at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and hopes to finish a Masters in Theological Studies in the next several years. God has used the teaching ministries of NPC greatly in his life through Men’s Bible Study, Journey Group, and Sunday School.


Sal Siano | Elder

Sal is married to Cathy and they have five children and five grandchildren. Sal and Cathy served in pastoral ministry for nineteen years in three churches. Sal currently works at Lexus as Sales Manager. Sal serves NPC children at Children’s Church, teaches Sunday School classes and preaches occasionally at NPC too. Sal is a Ruling Elder and encouraged by NPC’s wonderful message of grace.


Dave Strausbaugh | Elder

Dave is married to Laura. They have two college-age sons and one daughter. Dave teaches US History and Political Science at Worthington Kilbourne High School and coaches the Boys’ Cross Country team. Dave serves NPC as a Ruling Elder in a variety of ways: he leads our Sunday School program and also teaches children in our Communicant’s Class each winter. Dave graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and now preaches several times a year at NPC.


Steve Thompson | Elder

Steve has been married to Carrie for twenty one years. They have four children, Alexandra, Nicholas, Evan and Isabella. He is Regional Sales Manager for Kimball Midwest. Steve’s hobbies include fishing, coaching baseball and spending time with his family. He has served for several years as a Sunday School teacher to our middle and high school students, and looks forward to continuing to minister to students as well as in Men’s Ministries.


Tom Welch | Elder

Tom and his wife Nancy live in the Worthington area and have attended NPC for over ten years. They have been blessed with two children, both married and who have additionally blessed them with six grandchildren. Tom and Nancy have been involved in Sunday School at NPC, having co-led “The Art of Marriage” with Lance (ruling elder) and Mary Jane Bowman. Tom is also part of the choir. He works for Global Solutions as the Senior Director of Support Operations. Tom enjoys running and biking. He has a private pilot’s license and enjoys flying with Nancy to see the grandkids.
